The Best Landscapes in Less Than an Hour from Mahón
If you've rented a car during your stay in Mahón, you're about to discover one of the most free and comfortable ways to explore Menorca. Thanks to its manageable size, you can reach hidden coves, spectacular viewpoints, and charming villages in less than an hour.
1. Southern Route: from Mahón to Binibèquer
Estimated time: 20 minutes
A short and charming route that takes you to one of the most picturesque villages on the island: Binibèquer Vell. Its whitewashed streets, whitewashed houses, and seaside atmosphere make it a must-see.
Suggestion: Stop at Binisafúa or Binidalí beaches for a relaxing swim.
2. Northern Route: Mahón - Es Grau - Favàritx Lighthouse
Estimated time: 35 minutes
From Mahón, you can first go to Es Grau, a small fishing village with a family-friendly beach. From there, continue towards the s'Albufera des Grau Natural Park and end at the Favàritx Lighthouse, one of the most photogenic landscapes on the island.
Tip: Wear comfortable shoes for walking around the park.
3. Cultural Route: Mahón - Alaior - Monte Toro

The route first takes you to Alaior, one of Menorca's most distinctive villages, famous for its architecture and cuisine. Then, climb Monte Toro, the highest point on the island, with 360-degree panoramic views.

4. Southern Coves Route: Mahón - Cala en Porter - Cales Coves

A combination of nature and archaeology. Visit Cala en Porter, with its spectacular cliff setting, and then descend to Cales Coves, a cove surrounded by prehistoric caves.
Recommendation: Avoid peak sun hours, as the descent is somewhat challenging.
